Validation Mission of HLP Good Practices by Honorable Director General of NILG at Mirzapur Upazila, Tangail (26 September, 2021)

For validation of the findings of HLP Upazila workshop held on 28th December 2020 and to observe good practices at the field level Mr. Saleh Ahmed Mujaffor, Director General of NILG visited Mirzapur Upazila on 26th of September 2021. He was accompanied by Mr. Imranur Rahman, APD-HLP & Research Officer NILG, Mr. A.B.M Obaidul Haque, Finance Associate-HLP & Mr. Raiyan Sabbir, Monitoring & Evaluation Associate-HLP. At the Upazila office he was greeted by Mr. Md Hafizur Rahman, UNO-Mirzapur. Honorable Director General Conducted a meeting with Chairmen and representatives of the Unions of which good practices were selected at the Upazila Workshop. In the discussion meeting Mr Badshah Mia, Chairman-Mohera UP, Mr. Golam Mostafa, UP Member-Ajgana UP and Mr. Abdus Samad, Chairman-Bahuria UP were present. Mr. Mahfuzur Rahman, Project Manager-HLP WaterAid Bangladesh with representatives of BASA, a member of the consortium with WaterAid Bangladesh were also present in the discussion meeting. In the discussion meeting Director General also explained in detail about HLP process and selection of Good Practices. He further suggested to adopt processes through which these good practices could be further modified and developed so it can be institutionalized.

After the meeting Honorable Director General visited one identified Good Practice at Mohera Union. In the visit place Chairman of Mohera Union Mr. Badsha Mia explained about the good practice selected in the Upazila Workshop from the UP. From the UP one fruit tree and one wood tree sapling were provided to each family for encouraging birth registration after birth of babies as an innovative approach. This initiative of the UP was elected at the Upazila Workshop as a good practice. Honorable Director General saw pictures of tree distribution and planting, checked the record book where information of each birth registration was kept and visited some of the planted trees and the children at their homes.
