The Virtual Consultation meeting on Institutionalization of HLP in Bangladesh as per recommendations of Mid Term Review (MTR) report with relevant stakeholders of HLP project was held on 22 November 2021, from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm on zoom platform. The consultation meeting workshop was chaired by Md. Moniruzzaman, Director of Research, Planning and HLP Institutionalization Division of NILG. Representatives from Local Government Division (LGD), Planning Commission, ERD, IMED, JICA, WaterAid Bangladesh, Prip Trust, Breaking The Silence, Helvetas, Shushilon, NILG and HLP PMU joined the meeting virtually. Mr. Sohel Ibne Ali, Senior Program Manager of SDC, DDLG of Satkhira and UNO of Satkhira also joined the meeting virtually. The meeting was started with welcome address from the Chair and Ms. Manika Mitra, Deputy Project Director of HLP explained the objectives and modalities of the virtual consultation meeting. Dr. A. K. Sharifullah, Project Manager of HLP project briefly highlighted the strategies framed from HLP PMU in institutionalization of HLP in Bangladesh through power point slides. The presentation includes the following issues for discussion in the meeting:

• Institutionalization of HLP within LGD (Establishment of HLP Cell)
• Institutionalization of HLP within NILG (Assign HLP Focal Person and establish HLP Wing under Research, Planning & HLP Institutionalization Division)
• Institutionalization of HLP within Local Government Institutes (UP, Paurashava, Upazila and District)
• Institutionalization of HLP within Supporting NGOs (Continuing HLP activities with own resources)

After the presentation of the institutionalization process of HLP a meaningful discussion were taken place where everyone participated actively and opined their valuable comments and suggestions. HLP PMU had taken all the notes of the discussion points along with suggestion provided by respected participants for further development of the Institutionalization action plan and work plan of HLP. The workshop was concluded with valuable feedback and concluding remarks by AHM Kamruzzaman, Joint Secretary, Planning Branch of Local Government Division.
